Streaming Tech Sweden is the only annual conference dedicated to Streaming Tech in the Nordics, and the place to network with the community and be educated and inspired by experts to bring home new thoughts and ideas.
Members of our Stockholm team will be there to learn, network, and connect with other industry professionals. We’d love to discuss the latest advancements in video streaming technology in some of our key areas of expertise:
Cloud production and efficient video transport and synchronzation
Content processing, including virtual channel creation and FAST
With a no-sponsors policy, Streaming Tech independently chooses the most important and relevant topics and speakers.
Last year, SVTs Dennis Buhr and Agile Content’s Johan Bolin presented our joint cloud production project and discussed the benefits and challenges of migrating to the cloud. Topics included how to use the cloud to enable faster production and new formats, how to mix a variety of devices, from high-grade TV cameras to smartphones, and how to tackle challenges such as effective transport and synchronization.

Elastic Frame Protocol: An Open-source Alternative to MPEG-2 TS
MPEG-2 Transport Streams (TS) have been an omnipresent multiplexing technology for broadcast media transport and storage for decades. With the rapid transition to IP-based workflows, the basic conditions on which the design of MPEG-2 TS was based have fundamentally changed, and the technical limitations are becoming unmanageable. The Elastic Frame Protocol (EFP) is an open-source specification and implementation of a multiplexing protocol to replace MPEG-2 TS. Mikael Wånggren, Innovation Product Owner at Agile Content, will discuss the challenges and impacts of these protocols in the area of broadcast media transport.
Some key questions to be addressed:
Why is the multiplexing protocol important?
Why was an alternative protocol needed, and what are the key areas of improvement?
How can introducing a new multiplexing protocol benefit the media and broadcast industry?
Speaker: Mikael Wånggren Innovation Product Owner, Agile Content
