COAFFIN – Branded Content Affinity
With their business based in advertising, Media enterprises don’t have the same relevance in the digital environment as Google or companies as such, whose main differentiator is their contextualization capability. The affinity between contents and ads requires specialization and complex processes. The main goal of this project is the development of an automated system that allows Media companies to align the media’s editorial content and the advertisers’ efficiency goals. The idea is to create an automated system of editorial content association and of bidirectional brand (find relevant ads for the contents and create relevant content for the ads) that will maximize ads efficiency in digital media. This framework, more user friendly and less intrusive in its best expression, can transform advertising into a service.
The combined specialization of Agile and Adman, that develop the methodology and technology for the media and brands, raises a differentiated technical solution over the ones that can be found on the market, in order to generate new advertising formats (mainly audiovisual) and boost the performance of the contents since it provides ads with efficiency .
Technologically, it requires a new generation of algorithms that combine editorial and advertising intelligence and the processing great volumes of internal and external Big Data to find the most ideal patterns of alignment between the parts.
The project has been co-financed by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism through the National Plan for Scientific Research, development and Technological Innovation 2013-2015 and through the European Fund for Regional Development (FEDER). AIDMEP – Automated Insights for Digital Media Performance
Currently in the newest multimedia journalism organizations, part of the editorial role is centered in the constant tracking of information sources: agencies, teletypewriters, other media, social media, aggregators, blogs, etc; to find the news immediately, look for exclusives, contrast relevancy and be the first one to publish the news and the information in real time.
Thesse processes are still manual, with no technology or systems to back them up and they have no ties with the editorial system. To find this data, the journalists must use several tools and applications that decentralize their resources and prevent them from focusing completely on the editorial work or the product conception or the business performance.
This research seeks out solutions that develop the state of the art of the disruptive editorial technologies, with massive data treatment geared towards the future model, contributing integrated analytics to the content and service creation process. The research also looks for a competitive model that does not exists currently in the market.

VAS – Agile Value Added Services Platform – A platform for a new business model for media and telco companies
It’s necessary to reinvent and understand the new value chain of journalism to obtain profit in the digital media, since the old formula of the printed media cannot work in digital products. To have the chance to make digital journalism a new business, it is necessary to understand that journalism it’s not merely information, but it is a service. Among the essential aspects for its reinvention, we highlight technology and platforms that make the reinvention of journalism possible, the creation of contents and services that can engage the new audiences and the expansion of the traditional services to the offer of the new services (VAS).
